The State of California recently passed new guidelines for its "Industrial General Permit" - which has to do with storm water run-off.
Some businesses will be able to comply fairly easily, but even in that case, there is official paperwork that you must file to show compliance. Others businesses will need to make modifications in order to comply or they must create a "SWIP." Even if you already have a SWIP in place, you will need to update it to cover all the new items required in this updated Industrial General Permit.
A business has until October 1, 2015 to become compliant. Compliance documents will now (for the first time) be visible publicly.
To prevent San Marcos Chamber businesses from being exposed to liability, the Chamber is hosting a free 2-hour informational seminar on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 8:00 AM at the City of San Marcos. Our presenter will be from Tory R. Walker Engineering in Vista. They are experts on this topic.
If your business will be subject to the new 2015 California Industrial General Permit Guidelines we highly recommend your or someone from your business attend. Please R.S.V.P. and let us know if you can make it so we have adequate seating and food. A free continental breakfast will be provided.
The workshop presenters will seek to educate the audience on a number of major items, including:
